RIA Novosti, citing the Fund for the Protection of Lake Baikal, has reported that the Russian Mir-2 mini-submersible has found some shiny metal objects at the bottom of Lake Baikal. It may be a lost treasure of the czar during the Russian Civil War.

Two and a half million years old and the deepest Lake Baikal is located in the southern region of northern Siberia. The length of this lake is about 636 kilometers and UNESCO has included it in the list of natural heritage of the world.
